f.l.t.r.: Dr Jürgen Janssen, Dr Sabine Ferenschild, Dr Johannes Merck, Elke Hortmeyer

About 25 guests attended the panel discussion „Five Years of the Partnership of Sustainable Textiles – Quo vadis?“ on August 29, 2019 in the tower hall of the Bremen Cotton Exchange. Moderated by Birte Detjen, Dr Sabine Ferenschild (Südwind Institut), Elke Hortmeyer (Bremen Cotton Exchange), Dr Johannes Merck (Otto Group) und Dr Jürgen Janssen (Partnership’s Secretariat) discussed about the Partnership for Sustainable Textiles, its previous results and future tasks. The guests agreed that the working atmosphere between the participants of the multi-stakeholder partnership has become pleasant in the meantime. Now, enhancements and the implementation of the measures were of prior importance. It was criticized, however, that the Textile Partnership and its activities are still not enough known in public.

The event was part of the supplemental program of the exhibition “Use-less. Slow Fashion Against Waste and Ugly Clothes” at the Bremen Harbour Museum Speicher XI. The exhibition was organized by the Bremen Information Center for Human Rights and Development (biz) and the Clean Clothes Campaign, local group Bremen, in cooperation with the Bremen Cotton Exchange.
