18. January 2019 / Bremen Cotton Exchange at the PromoTex fair in Düsseldorf

The PromoTex Expo took place from January 8 to 10 on the Düsseldorf fairground recording 13,217 professional visitors of 39 nations and 130 exhibitors. The PromoTex is an international trade show on promotion, sports and workwear. The fair was carried out along with the PSI, the largest European meeting point of the promotional products sector, and the ‘viscom’, a platform for promotion technicians, both additionally increasing public interest.

Also in the market for promotion wear, questions of consumers as well as the sales personnel concerning the transparency of the supply chain back to the raw material cotton considerably gain meaning. Having this in mind, the Bremen Cotton Exchange decided to operate an own booth at the PromoTex’ sustainability area called ‘Textile Campus’ providing competent answers on all questions with regard to cotton as major natural fiber. The most important topics were the characteristics of cotton as renewable and bio-degradable raw material, cotton’s major quality properties and its manifold possibilities of use as well as the cotton market.

With two presentations on January 9 and 10, the Bremen Cotton Exchange constituted a valuable partner of the supporting program. Within the program focus  ‘Sustainability: Sustainable Trends and Innovations in the Textile Sector’ the speech ‘Cotton Sustainable: The Supply Chain from the Field to the Hanger’ met brisk interest.
