World Cotton Day on 7 October is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the versatile properties of the natural fibre that we all appreciate. But we also celebrate cottons contribution to the fight against poverty and a means of livelihood that sustains millions of smallholders.
World Cotton Day (WCD) was launched at the initiative of the Cotton Four (C-4) countries Benin, Burkina Faso, Chad and Mali. On August 2021, the General Assembly of the United Nations proclaimed 7 October as annual World Cotton Day.
