From January 9th to 11th, the Bremen Cotton Exchange held a joint presentation with the K\u00f6lner Akademie f\u00fcr Textilveredlung with their own booth at the leading European Trade Show of the Promotional Product Industry PSI 2018 in Dusseldorf. 907 exhibitors from 37 nations presented their product ranges at the fair.<\/p>\n
One focus at the PSI was on promotional textiles. Concentrated in their own trade fair hall, 165 exhibitors showed a great range of t-shirts, sweatshirts, polo shirts and shirts to be finished \u2013 mostly made from cotton. Questions regarding sustainable procurement become more important for promotional items and promotional textiles, too.<\/p>\n
In order to demonstrate the way of the cotton fibre from cotton growing through to the finished garment for exhibitors and visitors of the fair, the Bremen Cotton Exchange set up a \u201cWalk of Cotton\u201d within the Textile Sustainability Forum of the Akademie f\u00fcr Textilveredlung. At seven stations, the cotton textile supply chain was made tangible in a sensual way quasi from the cotton field through to the clothes hanger in the form of visual displays in combination with touchable materials.<\/p>\n
An informative programme of lectures on worldwide cotton production, procurement topics like cotton quality and traceability and certification of cotton from the Cotton Exchange as well as from several organisations stimulated lively discussions with visitors of the fair and also with international exhibitors.<\/p>\n
