We are the guardian of the trade rules: The “Bremen Rules” have applied to the German cotton trade since 1872. They are valid for cotton trading contracts concluded in Germany and abroad.
The Bremen Cotton Exchange is an international arbitration body. Judgements of the Court of Arbitration of the Cotton Exchange are in accordance with the New York Convention of 1958.
The Bremen Cotton Exchange holds the trademark rights to the International Cotton Emblem within the European Union (EU-28). The license to use the Cotton Emblem is issued by the Cotton Exchange.
We publish the “CIF” Bremen, the only price index based on quotations from Europe.
