For the fourth time, the ‘Mediterranean Cotton Roads’ took place in Barcelona on December 12, 2019. The conference gathers representatives from trade, processing and organisations of cotton producing countries along the Mediterranean. The event was hosted by the Spanish cotton center ‘Centro Algodonero Nacional’, the Greek cotton association ‘Hellenic Cotton Association of Ginners & Exporters’ as well as the Turkish raw material organisation ‘Izmir Commodity Exchange’. The Bremen Cotton Exchange was represented by its President Jens D. Lukaczik. The participants exchanged information on the harmonization of cotton production, logistics and technology of countries adjacent to the Mediterranean. The ‘European Cotton Alliance’ as well as block chain technology was on their focus amongst others.
