On May 7, the Bremen Cotton Exchange was the host of a “learning salon”, an event series of the VHS (German adult education institution) for their 100th anniversary in Bremen. The fully booked event started with a guided tour of the historic building at the Bremen market including an introduction to the architecture and history of the Bremen Cotton Exchange.
In the following lecture the participants got an insight into the current cotton industry and the associated activities of the Cotton Exchange. Finally, guests were able to take a look inside the “heart” of the house: the lab and arbitrage rooms where the cotton is tested and cotton samples from around the world are stored as reference.
